The crew at Funkyes.com all happened to meet through twisted fate.
After having had our own adventures around the globe we found ourselves in a similar place in life, the famous Beach Hotel in Byron Bay.
We often gather here for a cleansing ale (just out for one) at the end of what we jokingly refer to as a “tough low pay day in lifestyle bay”. Our days had mostly consisted of working in outdoor adventure companies with foreign travellers and friends.
These chance gatherings often spiralled into humorous banter sessions of no return and ended in loose escapades into the early hours of the morning. Some of our best T-shirt ideas were discovered during such sessions.
With our lifestyles on the threat of extinction from salary caps, sun exposure and the odd international stalker looking for citizenship, we decided it was time to share the good times and the humour that the world has brought to us.
Fortunately, the humour turned into hangover and the banter into business and Funkyes was officially formed in 2005.
Whilst now and then we can still be seen getting a little sideways at the Beachy, Cheeky Monkeys and other finely established watering holes around the country, we are somehow managing the balance between lifestyle, business and bad behaviour. (Make the bad man stop)!
So whether you buy a shirt, send in some funny photos, go travelling or just love what you do, the Team here at Funkyes.com say, get out there, have fun and make the most of life. Who knows... we may even chew the fat together over a brown sandwich (beer) one day in Byron Bay or some other great location as our travel paths cross!
